Capcom spotlights Street Fighter 6 gameplay for Marisa, J.P., Manon, Dee Jay, Dhalsim, and Honda

Chaotic scenes from Capcom TV

Early this morning, Capcom held its latest Capcom TV live stream, in which we got our first proper glimpse at some new Street Fighter 6 characters in action. Among the World Warriors clumsily strutting their stuff for the home audience, newcomers Marisa, Manon, and J.P. were joined by series veterans Dhalsim, Dee Jay, and E. Honda for some impromptu slugfests.

Now, without being mean, it must be said that these matches are hardly what you’d call “character showcases” — featuring a helluva lot of wild mashing and endless jumping — but the videos do give us all the opportunity to see some of these incoming characters normals, specials, and animations, along with their respective intros, walkouts, win poses, and, most importantly of all, their “Game Face” options!

The Street Fighter 6 segment of the show begins at 1:32:00 in the video below, while the matches themselves begin at around 1:48:00.

カプコンTV!! リニューアル放送は12/20(火)よる8時スタート!

We get to see French Fatale Manon taking on the heavy beat of returning superstar Dee Jay, as well as fan-favorite Marisa beating down on mysterious gentleman J.P., finally, it’s a dose of the old school as sumo grandmaster E. Honda squares off against mystic yoga practitioner Dhalsim. As noted, the fights are fairly wild, so don’t be looking for any Top Tier Tech, but it’s great to see these characters finally throwing down in unedited gameplay. It’s worth the entry fee alone for Marisa’s dramatic win pose!

Street Fighter 6 launches on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox July 2, 2023. Be sure to check out our other reports on the leaked character roster, as well as the 50 things I loved about the beta, CJ Andriessen’s experience with the Modern control system, and a list of Do’s and Do Not Do’s for the new sequel
