CarryMinati Purchases Minority Stake in Big Bang Esports; Here’s What We Know

Ajey Nagar, also known as CarryMinati, is one of the most popular content creators in India. His rise to fame came from his comedy videos that consisted of roasts, skits and more. CarryMinati has also dwelled into gaming through his second channel, CarryisLive, where he livestreams all the games he plays. A recent development has shown that CarryMinati’s interest in the Indian gaming scene has increased.

The new development is that CarryMinati, along with his business partner, Deepak Char, have become stakeholders in Big Bang Esports. The esports organisation is a subsidiary of Big Bang Media, owned by Ravneet Gill and Madhu Mantena. The duo have purchased a 10% stake in the company, which will facilitate CarryMinati’s long-time aim of making gaming more common in houses.

Big Bang Esports are all set to host the Asian Open Esports Championship in partnership with International Esports Federation or IESF. The upcoming tournament is called the IESF Big Bang Asia Open, and it will feature a total of 40 countries, five esports titles and three leagues including amateur, mid-core and professional.

CarryMinati has sated that he is “pleased to join the family of Big Bang Esports” and also joyous on becoming a stakeholder along with his partner. He then goes on to call India as one of the “fastest-growing esports markets in the world”. He adds that the esports growth that has been observed in the country has been “phenomenal in recent years”.

CarryMinati also stated that this peak will only go higher if it is treated with “more vigour and pace” in the upcoming years. He concludes by stating that esports played a big role in how his career has turned out today, therefore “this partnership is a natural fit.”
