Burnley and Sheffield United can rest easy on their final league games of the season having already secured promotion, but it’s set to be a tense afternoon for supporters of Coventry City, Millwall, Sunderland, West Brom and Blackburn as all five teams look to secure a play-off berth. Luton and Middlesbrough have already booked their place in the play-offs while relegation has already been decided with Reading, Blackpool and Wigan going down.
For other teams playing, it will be about pride and finishing as high as possible in the table. But the five sides with everything still to play for will no doubt go through an emotional rollercoaster today.
Millwall and Blackburn face off in a blockbuster tie at the New Den with everything on the line while Coventry face a difficult test against Middlesbrough. Sunderland and West Brom are both away from home in games against Preston and Swansea respectively.
The final day in the Championship season has created plenty of drama throughout the years and today is likely to be no different. Coventry and Millwall currently hold the advantage over their rivals as they sit fifth and sixth respectively, but Sunderland, West Brom and Blackburn are all finely poised to take advantage of any slip ups.
