What is ChatGPT
ChatGPT is an AI-based chatbot that is developed by Microsoft-backed AI research startup OpenAI. This chatbot was released to the public in November 2022. Since its debut, ChatGPT has gained a lot of traction due to its ability to process prompts and offer human-like answers.
With the right commands, the chatbot can be used for multiple purposes including writing essays, articles, jokes, poems and even job applications. ChatGPT’s abilities have also attracted a lot of criticism from educators across the world and have been already banned in several institutions.
Recently, OpenAI has also rolled out a paid version of the chatbot. ChatGPT Plus, which will cost $20/month. ChatGPT Plus is currently available only for US customers and OpenAI is expected to invite more people from its waitlist in the coming weeks.
Microsoft’s plans for ChatGPT
Microsoft has also announced long-term investments in OpenAI and has outlined its plans to adopt the AI capabilities developed by OpenAI. The software giant is planning to include the ChatGPT content generator in its services, including the Bing search engine. The company’s plans to adopt AI in its products have led to speculation that Microsoft may pose a “meaningful challenge to Google’s dominance in search.”
