OpeAI, the company behind the famous chatbot ChatGPT users can now surf the web on mobile. The company has introduced a new Browsing feature for the users of its premium service ChatGPT Plus. The company has revealed that ChatGPT Plus users can now browse the web directly from the app.
“Plus users can now use Browsing to get comprehensive answers and current insights on events and information that extend beyond the model’s original training data,” said the company.
How to enable the Browsing feature
In order to enable the browsing feature, the ChatGPT Plus users need to go to the ‘new features’ section present in the app settings. After this, users will have to select GPT-4 in the model switcher and choose ‘Browse with Bing’ in the drop-down.
According to OpenAI, Browsing functionality proves especially valuable for inquiries pertaining to contemporary events and other knowledge that “goes beyond the scope of ChatGPT’s initial training data.”
Earlier this year, Microsoft and OpenAI made a joint announcement regarding the introduction of Browsing capabilities, initially focusing on web-based content. This enhancement significantly bolsters ChatGPT’s utility as an assistant, particularly for research purposes. Prior to this update, ChatGPT struggled to provide satisfactory and accurate responses to inquiries such as “Who emerged as the victor in the 2023 March Madness women’s tournament?”

The link then can be shared with friends, colleagues, and collaborators. The feature is aimed at making the ChatGPT experience more interactive and it also replaces the older way of taking screenshots and sharing the conversation. The feature also lets users share a conversation with their name or anonymously.
