Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel confirms Marina Granovskaia January transfer ‘discussions’
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he is currently holding discussions with Marina Granovskaia over potential transfer business. Tuchel has made just two signings at Stamford Bridge since his January 2021 arrival and is seemingly eyeing reinforcements ahead in the second half of the season.
On Saturday, Chelsea begin their FA Cup campaign at home in a third-round clash against National League outfit Chesterfield.
Ahead of the game, he has suggested the club are actively looking to bolster his options this month if a suitable opportunity arises.
He told reporters: “We are discussing and are in talks with the board and the scouting. We are checking the possibilities, as we always do.
“We are looking into the market and the possibilities. Not under the highest pressure, but things have to make sense for us.”

After guiding Chelsea to Champions League glory in his first season at the helm, Tuchel was rewarded with quality over quantity in terms of transfers.
The Blues re-signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan in a club-record £97.5million deal before loaning Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid on deadline day.
But Tuchel’s squad has been hit by injury issues this term, most notably Ben Chilwell likely to be out of action for the remainder.
And Chelsea have been linked with wantaway Everton left-back Lucas Digne to provide competition for Marcos Alonso.

In terms of outgoings, Antonio Rudiger has reportedly opened talks over a pre-contract agreement with Bayern Munich, Juventus, PSG, and Real Madrid.
The German centre-back’s Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season, and his demands have not yet been met.
However, Tuchel has insisted he won’t ‘pamper’ Rudiger to convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge.
“I don’t feel he needs a lot of coffees with me. He is a guy that needs to feel the connection and trust,” Tuchel explained.
