Chelsea player ratings vs Tottenham: Two players shine but Lukaku flops again
Malang Sarr – 6
The Blues’ ongoing injury woes has seen Sarr deployed as an emergency left-back in recent weeks and he kept his spot ahead of Marcos Alonso for the derby clash.
Sarr renewed acquaintances with Kane after his commanding performance against the England captain in the recent Carabao Cup semi-final clash at Stamford Bridge.
Was steady enough but, unsurprisingly, didn’t offer the hosts too much going forward.
Jorginho – 6
A steady if unspectacular performance from the Blues midfielder.
Solid enough but failed to impact the game in any real way. Improved in the second half and helped keep things ticking over for the hosts once they’d nudged in front.
Mateo Kovacic – 6
Kovacic had a sloppy first half and struggled to get into the game.
Improved slightly after the break but still failed to make any real impression in the middle of the park.
Hakim Ziyech – 8
After netting with a long-range scorcher for Chelsea last time out, Ziyech bagged another stunner to cap one of his best displays in a Chelsea shirt.
The Morrocan winger was a menace throughout and supplied a number of tantalising crosses to keep the Tottenham defence honest in a busy first half before he found the top left-hand corner with a pinpoint strike to break the deadlock just after the break.
