Chelsea put three players up for sale to fund club-record Erling Haaland transfer
Chelsea are going all out to steal the show this summer and complete the big-money signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. In the latest development, three players have reportedly been put up for sale to free up the necessary funds to make the dream move a reality.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are believed to be the only club willing to pay the big bucks to sign Haaland this summer.
It would set them back in the region of £150million, whereas next summer his newly-active release clause would see him available for less than half of that fee.
When virtually all of Europe’s elite come calling in those circumstances, Real Madrid believe they have the upper hand in the deal, having met with his entourage earlier in the year.
As such, there is a sense of urgency around Chelsea’s Haaland pursuit amid a feeling that bringing the Norwegian to Stamford Bridge could happen now or never.
According to BILD, three players have been transfer listed as a result. Express Sport takes a closer look:

Hakim Ziyech
It would almost be a shame for Chelsea to let go of the talented Moroccan who has only been allowed to strut his stuff for one injury-hit season at Stamford Bridge.
However, Tuchel and transfer chief Marina Granovskaia must be ruthless when trimming the fat in their squad.
Chelsea have too many heavy-hitters in their attack, particularly if Haaland comes in, which leaves a peripheral attacking player like Ziyech in a tough position.
If truth be told, the attacking-midfielder does not fit seamlessly into Tuchel’s 3-4-3 formation. If AC Milan are able to stump up around £30m as reported, the west London side could well be wise to green-light the deal.
Tammy Abraham
The main man under Frank Lampard quickly found himself frozen out when Tuchel was instated as his replacement.
The Englishman struggled to get past Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud in securing minutes up top, which led to a hugely frustrating season.
Abraham scored 15 Premier League goals during the 2019/20 campaign, form which has not been forgotten by the likes of West Ham who are thought to be keen on a deal.
At 23-years-old, the rangy front-man is already a proven goal-scorer at the top level, while he would be wasted sat on the bench at the Bridge.
With all three of the aforementioned players back in pre-season training ahead of the new season, don’t be surprised to see their respective situations evolve quickly over the coming days and weeks.
