Control 2: Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games Set to Co-Develop the Game for PC, Xbox Series X, S, and Sony PlayStation 5

Remedy Entertainment recently announced some major progress with the development of the sequel to its hit 2019 title, Control.

In a new press release, the studio confirmed that it has signed an agreement with developers 505 Games to co-develop and co-publish Control 2, which was previously called Codename Heron.

The title will be built with a budget of €50 million, with Remedy owning the franchise’s IP. Both the studios will equally share all developmental and marketing costs alongside the net revenue the game earns as well.

The Control sequel will be developed for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the game being built on Remedy’s Northlight engine.

The Control sequel recently came under the spotlight during the release of Remedy’s latest earnings report, where it was mentioned that the big-budget Codename Heron was still in the concept phase.

However, nearly two weeks later, the studio has now confirmed development alongside the studio behind Halo Infinite. Even with the recent announcements, the sequel is still in the early stages of development, and players shouldn’t expect to see it anytime soon, according to Control Game Director, Mikael Kasurinen.
