Counter-Strike 2 Gets Nvidia Reflex Support

Counter-Strike 2, Valve’s upcoming shooter title, will see a major upgrade from its predecessor with the addition of Nvidia Reflex.

The latency-reducing Reflex technology improves responsiveness in competitive titles, where speed and precision is the key to victory. The technology is currently available on Nvidia GeForce GTX 900 or higher cards, and players with AMD GPUs won’t have access to any of its features.

Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was widely criticised for not having Nvidia Reflex, while compared to its competitors such as Valorant and Overwatch. However, that won’t be the case with Counter-Strike 2. According to the Verge, Nvidia Reflex will be available in CS2 and will help players reduce system latency by up to 35%.

While the Reflex technology barely provides any improvements with the RTX 4070 and RTX 3060 GPU, the major reduction in latency comes with Counter-Strike 2 running on devices with GeForce GTX 1060 GPUs.

With Counter-Strike 2 set to release this Summer, fans are excited about the title’s prospects when it comes to esports. Alongside new additions like the implementation of Nvidia Reflex, the game introduces new mechanics, such as responsive smoke grenades, which opens up new ways for players to experience the popular shooter franchise.

Other than that, the game continues to improve with changes based on user feedback from the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, as we inch closer to its release.
