Counter-Strike 2 Introduces New Animations, Valve Mass Bans CS:GO Trade Accounts
Counter Strike 2 recently received a new patch on June 30th, 2023, that came with new additions like the Casual game mode, new maps, Nuke and Office and more. A new report however points out that Valve has added a new animation for the grenade, which seems to be the highlight of the latest patch. Here’s more.
Counter-Strike 2 adds grenade inspection animations
The new animations are reportedly a first for the grenades in the history of Counter Strike. Regardless, multiple reports suggest that this may be Valve preparing to add grenade skins in the game in the future. You can check out the skins in the video below.
Valve removes $2 million worth of in-game items in account mass ban
In other news, Valve has reportedly banned around 40 Counter Strike: Global Offensive trade accounts. This has resulted in the permanent removal of around $2 million worth of in-game items, with many traders now reportedly resorting to selling off their remaining in-game assets.
However, the reports also suggested that only those traders who were involved with gambling sites, more specifically CS: GORoll, were targeted by Valve. CSGOEmpire is another gambling site, which published a list of CS: GO traders allegedly were involved with in a “cryptocurrency money laundering scheme”. CSGORoll has reportedly been accused of being at the helm of it.
Since the mass ban of the trader accounts on 28th June, the owner of CSGORoll has issued a public statement via his official Twitter handle. In this statement, they have denied all allegations, implying that they are being attacked since the announcement of their partnership with esports organisation G2 back in May. For context, CSGORoll was banned in Australia shortly after the announcement, after being found to be in “breach of Australian gambling laws”.
