Counter-Strike 2: Valve’s Latest Patch Fixes Wallhack Command, But Players Find New Loopholes and More

Counter-Strike 2, the much awaited sequel to one of the longest running games, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, is all set to arrive this summer as a free-to-play update.

Ahead of the release, the game is in limited testing mode, where only select players from Steam are getting a chance to try out the title. Counter-Strike 2 will be bringing a revamp to every system, content, and more from the previous title.

As the game is in limited testing currently, the developers are still working out the kinks and bugs for the title. Reports of players being able to access console commands had also started surfacing on the net, with them using this exploit to see through walls of the game. Fortunately, Valve was quick to respond to these issues and released a new patch on March 30 that “disabled all development console commands” (including “cl_physics_highlight_active 5”).

However, Valve’s celebration lasted not more than a few hours, as players already found a workaround to their fix. Popular streamer ohnePixel took to their Twitter to explain how the new hack looks. Although it is not as clear as the previous wall hack, players are still able to easily view everybody on the map through the walls. Check out ohnePixel’s new wallhack loophole below:

Game breaking Counter-Strike 2 bug spotted

Spotted by DotEsports, a CS2 player on Reddit has revealed a potential game breaking bug for the title. This bug spoofs the location of the C4 bomb in the Dust II map. The player who posted the bug on Reddit observed that the C4 bomb had been dropped outside of the map’s bounds, out of their reach.

However, their friends had a different location for the bomb on their map, and they had to literally guide the player to reach the bomb. Towards the end, the player did grab the bomb as they received a prompt to doing so, but it never appeared inside the map on their screen. Check out the video here.

Wallhack bug frustrates game veteran Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg

CS:GO veteran, Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, has had enough with Counter-Strike 2 and its wallhackers (the bug mentioned above). According to a report by DotEsports, f0rest has refused to play Counter-Strike 2 Dust II matchmaking until the developers fix this annoying bug. He doesn’t mind playing in private lobbies, but will not be playing matchmaking until this issue is fixed.

PGL to hold Counter-Strike 2 Major next year

Lastly, PGL esports has recently tweeted that they will be hosting the PGL CS2 Majors in Copenhagen in 2024. This will be the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major and will be held in Denmark between March 17 and March 31, 2024 at the Royal Arena. PGL has previous held CS:GO Majors at Kraków in 2017, Stockholm in 2021 and most recently, Antwerp in 2022.
