Creatures of Sonaria: New Roblox TV Series in the Works

The newest video game adaptation is coming from a property that might surprise you: Roblox.

Reported by Deadline, an episodic series based on the Roblox game Creatures of Sonaria is in the works. The series is coming from Wind Sun Sky Entertainment and Productivity Media, and will be overseen by former Lucasfilm executive Catherine Winder, current CEO and executive producer at Wind Sun Sky.

Wind Sun Sky is best known for Invincible, the Prime Video series adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic book of the same name. Winder is known for working on Invincible, as well as the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, The Angry Birds movies, and more.

Creatures of Sonaria is a survival game within Roblox created by Sonar Studios. The game takes place in a world filled with exotic creatures fighting to survive, meaning Winder’s experience in the galaxy far, far away could be a good fit. The report also says Wind Sun Sky will adapt the Roblox game Twilight Daycare into a series.

Roblox lets players explore thousands of games created by the community, so it’s a somewhat offbeat choice for a video game adaptation. This news may evoke thoughts of the long-awaited Minecraft movie, which we first heard of nearly a decade ago.
