CS:G0 – FACEIT Bans Former Velocity Gaming Players

It has just been revealed that four former members of a prominent esports team in India have been banned from FACEIT, a popular platform for hosting CS: GO matches. The FACEIT platform implements its anti-cheat system to determine which players could be using unfair means while playing professionally. The platform’s latest find includes 4 players who were participating in the recently concluded Skyesports Masters for CS: GO.

The information comes to us from the latest X post (formerly Twitter) by Owl Drone Media, which is a popular source for esports-related news in India. Their post reveals that out of the 6 members who participated in the Skyesports Masters competition, 4 have been banned for cheating. The post also reveals that Velocity Gaming placed last in the season and was able to only win 1 match out of the 14 best of threes.

Velocity Gaming statement

However, the story does not end there. The news about the bans on these players surfaced online yesterday, August 25 and today August 26, Velocity Gaming has released an official statement regarding the issue. Their statement reveals that the team “parted ways” with their entire CS: GO roster on August 18, which was around a week before the issue.

Moreover, their statement also reveals that the accused players didn’t use any unfair means in the Skyesports Masters competition to the knowledge of Velocity Gaming. But, they also agree that they didn’t have “enough time to conduct due diligence of these players”. Their statement concludes by stating that Velocity has zero tolerance for anything that disrupts competitive integrity.

The banned players on FACEIT include L0sttt_, LoganOff, Syahhftw and THE-GURU. If you visit their social profiles then you can see that LOstt_ and LoganOff have been banned for 2 years, from August 25 2023 to August 25, 2025. Syahhftw and THE-GURU on the other hand have received indefinite bans.

Bodhisattwa “The_Guru” Pandey responds to ban

Lastly, a report by AFKGaming reveals that THE-GURU has provided a response to the allegations. The player has stated that a false ban has been placed on them and the issue has occurred because they “played in cafe” and a great number of players frequent those systems. They have also stated that the issue has been reported and is currently under investigation. We will have to just wait for the investigation to finish to know for sure whether these allegations are indeed true.
