As per the rules, the IPL final will have a reserve day — Monday, May 29 in this year’s case — in case the match is not able to start by 12:06am cut-off time, in which case there will be a five-overs per-side contest.
If the match is completely washed off on Monday also, the Gujarat Titans would be declared the champions as they were placed above the CSK in the league table.
The match is speculated to be Chennai skipper M. S. Dhoni’s last as a player. Many fans turned up in numbers wearing the yellow jersey of the superstar cricketer.
