Curb Your Enthusiasm Writer Says 12th Season Will Be Its Last in Since-Deleted Tweet

Curb Your Enthusiasm producer Jon Hayman tweeted – and then deleted – the news that Season 12 will apparently be the hit comedy show’s final season.

“Maybe you love the show,” he said in the now-deleted Tweet alongside a photo of himself with Larry David. “Maybe you hate the show. Maybe you don’t give a shit. In any event, shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.”

The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed that the upcoming season will see the show bow out, with a source stating that the final episode “felt like a homecoming.”

Meanwhile, Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star Richard Lewis has recounted what it was like to shoot his last scene of the series.

“There I was a few hours ago in my trailer on location to shoot my last scene of #Curb12,” he said in a recent Tweet. “Hard to believe we started in 2000. The cast and crew all knew we were working for a genius. When that rarity happens, no one ever takes a moment for granted. We love you LD.”

Curb Your Enthusiasm has been on the air for 11 seasons so far, debuting on October 15, 2000.

But while it looks as though HBO may have called time on the long-running comedy, it may depend on whether or not Larry David wants to make more.

HBO has operated an open-door policy with the show, according to THR, deferring to Larry David on whether he ultimately wishes to return. His long-time collaborator Jeff Schaffer has previously revealed that every season is pre-emptively the last… until Larry David decides otherwise.

Whether or not this is the case with Season 12 remains to be seen, but THR reports that David’s HBO deal is coming to a close this year. So, it looks as though he may have to arrange a new deal if there are to be any further seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
