DC Comics Brings Back the Swimsuit Special With a Bizarre Twist

Swimsuit specials were all the rage during the ’90s comic book boom, and it appears they’re making a comeback in 2023. DC has a brand new swimsuit special planned for the summer, but with one important twist. It’s hosted by arguably the most bizarre and obscure Green Lantern of them all – G’nort.

This oversized anthology special features artwork from Amanda Conner, Paul Pelletier, Nicola Scott, Mikel Janín, Jeff Dékal, Daniel Sampere, Gleb Melnikov, Derrick Chew, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Emanuela Lupacchino, Joëlle Jones, Megan Huang, Terry Dodson, Babs Tarr, Pete Woods, Joe Quinones, Hélène Lenoble, Otto Schmidt, Michael Allred, Sweeney Boo, David Talaski, Jenny Frison. The book also includes a pair of stories – the Midnighter and Apollo tale “Out There” and a brand new story featuring another unlikely swimsuit model – the Penguin.

G’nort’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition #1 will be released on August 29, 2023.

Elsewhere at DC, Amanda Waller is being set up to become the greatest threat to the DC Universe, and Wonder Woman #800 will introduce Diana’s daughter, Trinity.
