Dead Island 2 gets a release date: All the details – Times of India

After having been years in the making, the zombie action RPG Dead Island 2 has got a release date now. The game is set to launch on February 3, 2023, across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC platforms, the developers revealed during the ongoing Gamescom 2022.
Playable in the first person, Dead Island 2 allows an in-game zombified version of you to take your chances in Los Angeles, which has been overrun by the zombie hordes. The Dead Island 2 version of Los Angeles is dubbed ‘HELL-A’, which the developers chose as they had a “hellish vision of LA”.
As for the combat, the developers are aiming at the “most intense, visceral and gory first-person experience possible”. You will get lots of weapons and tactical (and brutal) options to take on the zombie swarm. Here is the gameplay reveal trailer of the game.

We said a “zombified version of you” and by that, we mean that you will play as someone who’s already been infected by the zombies. The caveat here is that you are resistant to the infection to some degree; there will be some changes in your body which will make you more powerful and that’s something that can actually give you an edge over the zombies in combat.
“You are bitten, infected, but immune and stronger for it. Learn how to harness the virus coursing through your veins as you paint LA red with the insides of countless zombie enemies on a path to discover the truth about the outbreak, about who – or what – you are and survive.”, said the developers in a press statement.
The game offers co-op support also and you can go in and have some zombie-slaying fun with two of your friends.
