On the topic of Dead Island 2, recent revelations about the game’s co-op features will not make previous generation console players happy. The developers at Deep Silver have revealed certain co-op details for the players ahead of its release and these details reveal that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will not be able to host co-op sessions on launch. Check out how it will work below:
- PC players will be able to host as well as join other PC Co-op Sessions.
- Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One X players will also be able to host as well as join other Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One X Co-op sessions.
- PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 Pro players will also be able to host as well as join other PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 Pro Co-op sessions.
- Xbox One S users cannot host but join other Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One X Co-op sessions.
- Similarly, PlayStation 4 players cannot host but join other PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 Pro Co-op sessions.
The devs stated that the game’s graphics requirements are so high that players will need to either be on the latest generation consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S) or one of the Generation 8+ consoles (PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X) in order to host Co-op sessions. The developers are working on a solution that will allow players on all platforms to host co-op sessions in the future.
