Deadpool 2’s Jack Kesy to Play Hellboy in The Crooked Man Reboot

Deadpool 2’s Jack Kesy will play the titular Hellboy in Millennium Media’s upcoming reboot, The Crooked Man.

As reported by Deadline, Millennium has announced that Kesy will play a younger Hellboy than cinema fans are used to, and one that promises to remain faithful to Mike Mignola’s comic book depiction of the character.

Kesy played Black Tom in Deadpool 2 and has also appeared in Baywatch, Mosquito State, The Outpost, and more.

“Jack Kesy is a dynamic actor who has the ability to morph into his roles,” said Millennium co-president Jonathan Yunger. “His talent and stature are perfect for this younger Hellboy. I was very impressed with him while working together on The Outpost.”

The Crooked Man was announced in February 2023 as the second Hellboy reboot coming to Hollywood, with Crank director Brian Taylor at the helm. Chris Golden and Mignola himself wrote the script, the first time the comic book creator has done so for a film.

“The Crooked Man is a departure from all previous Hellboy films where Mike Mignola and the creator of the comics will finally shepherd an authentic version of his stories and characters in film form,” said Millennium’s president Jeffrey Greenstein when it was announced.

“This is the first in the series of films that will captivate audiences in familiar (and new) ways. Brian Taylor is an expert across the board, and I couldn’t think of a better person to bring this story to life to show our audience this different and original Hellboy slate of films.”
