Dele Alli ‘to cut short loan’ as Everton flop ends nightmare in Turkey

Dele Alli is set to cut short his temporary spell with Besiktas after it emerged the midfielder requires knee surgery, according to reports. The Everton man has struggled to impress after spending the season on loan in Turkey and now looks set to head back to Goodison Park before the expiry of his deal following his latest injury problem.

Alli has picked up a fresh knee injury and returned to London for treatment earlier this week after flying in from Istanbul, according to reports.

After being assessed, it was decided that the midfielder would need to undergo surgery to fix the issue, ruling him out for the rest of the season and bringing a premature end to his miserable spell in Turkey.

The 27-year-old has faced heavy criticism at Besiktas after arriving on a season-long loan in August, scoring only twice and registering one assist in 15 appearances for the club. He has also fallen out with manager Senol Gunes after a series of incidents on and off the pitch.
