Dell CEO wants Elon Musk to define parody, here’s why – Times of India

Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell has a question for Twitter owner Elon Musk. He wants him to define ‘Parody’. Dell said this in response to Musk’s tweets about parody accounts. In a series of tweets, Tesla, SpaceX and now Twitter CEO said that impersonators’ accounts will now be permanently banned without warning if they are not clearly labeled as parody. “Going forward, accounts engaged in parody must include “parody” in their name, not just in bio,” Musk had tweeted. “To be more precise, accounts doing parody impersonations. Basically, tricking people is not ok,” he added in another tweet. “Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended,” said Musk, making it clear that parody accounts need to say it loud and clear that they are parody accounts.

“Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue,” added another tweet. “Any name change at all will cause temporary loss of verified checkmark.” “No exceptions,” Musk said in another tweet.
Dell apparently tweeted after he tried to add the word ‘occasional parody’ in his Twitter profile and he received the message ‘Deny’. “Tried to edit my profile name to include occasional parody and it said “Deny”. Not kidding!,” tweeted Dell. ” “any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended.” So far Musk has not responded to his tweet.
