Despite export curbs, China’s chip industry still holds sway. Here’s why!

While the US, the Netherlands and Japan combined have a near monopoly in the global chip-equipment market, Chinese companies are some of their largest clients, particularly for Japanese manufacturers of lithography machines. Despite sanctions, affected firms may still find ways to continue doing business with China.
