  • It is a sophisticated malware with complex functionalities.
  • Once a device is infected, personal data is stolen, the attacker gains remote access to the device, and the user is inundated with unwanted advertisements.
  • In addition to causing an infection, the attacker can also gain control of the victim’s device.

The team found out that the cybercriminal group is using Telegram to spread fake versions of popular apps like YouTube, Netflix, ChatGPT, Opera Mini, and Instagram. These fake apps contain dangerous DogeRAT malware that can harm unsuspecting smartphone users.

Compromised apps ask for permission to access sensitive data like call logs, audio recordings, SMS messages, media, and photos when installed unknowingly by users. People often don’t realize the consequences of giving permission, which can result in malware stealing all their information.
