The Miami Dolphins are adding another weapon for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cedrick Wilson has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $22.8 million contract with the Fins, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. He is getting $12.75 million guaranteed.

The news comes after Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the Cowboys didn’t believe they could afford to re-sign Wilson this offseason.

Wilson had spent his entire three-year career with the Cowboys after being selected in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft. He had a career year in 2021, catching 45 passes for 602 yards and six touchdowns.

Wilson also has experience punt returning, which could be valuable for the Dolphins in 2022.

The 26-year-old joins a talented receiving group in Miami that includes DeVante Parker and rising star Jaylen Waddle. He’s also the third offensive player the Dolphins signed on Monday, joining running back Chase Edmonds, who agreed to a two-year, $12.6 million deal, and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who agreed to a one-year contract.

As for the Cowboys, they also traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns to free up cap space to sign Michael Gallup, who agreed to a five-year, $62.5 million deal to remain in Dallas.

Even with the loss of Wilson and Cooper, the Cowboys have no shortage of playmakers for quarterback Dak Prescott to work with. Gallup, CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard have all proven their worth over the last year, and they’ll continue to be impact players moving forward.

With players like Davante Adams being franchise-tagged, players like Wilson are becoming more valuable for teams looking for receiving depth. Allen Robinson, Sammy Watkins, Will Fuller, T.Y. Hilton and JuJu Smith-Schuster are among the receivers still available.
