However, in a surprising turn of events, the game has just fallen victim to a massive leak. As spotted by Exputer, the in-development gameplay footage from the title along with extensive details have surfaced on the r/dragonage subreddit. The information and footage have been revealed by a user called u/revanchisto.
The user claims that a playtester had provided them with the early alpha footage of the game. The user has only revealed a small glimpse of the 20 minutes of footage they have received from the playtester. Although the footage has been removed, inquisitive players can find a link to it along with a few screen grabs here.
Through the video, we don’t get to see much other than the HUD, where we see different types of special moves, dialogues and player objectives. The video is really short, and we only get to see a dodge and a special attack. The player is seen wielding a sword and a shield.
Through the extensive details found on the Reddit post, we get more context about the footage in question. Firstly, we are informed that the entire footage has been captured through one segment, which takes place in a dungeon. The location is the Gray Warden Fortress HQ of Weisshaupt.
The leaker further revealed that the game’s still very early in development, as many of the textures for the buildings and surfaces in the game weren’t completely developed yet. We are also informed about the two-party members and the Darkspawn enemies that players need to take down.
In their conclusion, the user states that the combat feels inspired by God of War, as it featured a back and slash style of fighting. Moreover, the combat includes normal attacks, combos, abilities and a special attack that can be used when a specific bar is full.
Furthermore, how the party will be implemented in the game hasn’t been showcased yet. The user feels that players will be able to command the party members to execute their special abilities at specific times but will not have full control over them.
Lastly, the leaker also mentioned that graphics are at a level never seen before in a BioWare title. They also mentioned that the user interface is extremely similar to that of Dragon Age: Inquisition. All enemies shown in the game are variations of the Darkspawn, with the only different type being the dragon.
