Dragon’s Dogma 2 Is Four Times the Size of the Original
Capcom has revealed that Dragon’s Dogma 2’s map will be four times that of the original game.
Shared during a deep dive as part of the 2023 Capcom Showcase, game director Hideaki Itsuno revealed more on the game’s mechanics as highlighted in a recent trailer.
Built in the RE Engine, players will engage with action RPG fighting across the sprawling, medieval open world that promises a high graphical fidelity.
Alongside revealing Dragon’s Dogma 2’s map size, Capcom confirmed the sequel would be a single player game but would feel like a cooperative experience thanks to Pawns: the NPC characters that fight alongside the player.
Itsuno also shared some of Dragon’s Dogma 2’s almost Dungeons and Dragons-like mechanics, where players can seemingly progress further in a variety of ways. “What would happen if you destroyed that bridge? Or pull that monsters leg?,” he asked.
Finally, some character information was also shared, with two in particular being highlighted. Ulrika is a bow wielder with a deep connection to the Arisen while Nadinia is a high priestess of the beastren, and both will be central points in the game’s story.
Capcom shared a handful of other announcements at its 2023 showcase, all of which you can read about right here.
