DualSense Edge preorders are live now at PlayStation Direct. We are tracking preorders right here and will update this article with other listings once they go live. It’s certainly possible that the DualSense Edge will sell out, so if you’re interested you may want to get your order in early. The DualSense Edge releases on January 26, 2023.
Essentially, the DualSense Edge is PlayStation’s official pro-style controller. Similar to Xbox’s Elite controller, the DualSense Edge is designed to be a step up from the regular DualSense controller–which is already a superb device–and combines the advanced haptic feedback technology of that hardware with a more customizable selection of gear.
$200
DualSense Edge preorders are live at PlayStation Direct for $200. You have to sign into your PlayStation account to purchase. We expect preorders to be available at major retailers shortly.
As for what makes the DualSense Edge special, it all comes down to customization. On the surface, it comes equipped with extra paddles on the rear and switches for flicking through multiple profiles, but you’ll be able to fine-tune every input on this device to suit your personal needs.
You can remap buttons, tweak the sensitivity of the analog sticks, and adjust the trigger travel distance, allowing you to build perfect preset profiles for racing, fighting, and FPS games. This is done through an on-controller user interface as well, so you won’t have to worry about navigating multiple menus when you want to switch between your gaming presets.
$20
The DualSense Edge Stick Module is also available to order at PlayStation Direct for $20. The Stick Module includes replacement sticks of different lengths and topper designs, so you can easily swap your analog sticks.
Additionally, you’ll also receive some great accessories. The DualSense Edge comes in its very own carrying case, can be recharged with a braided USB cable, and multiple analog stick caps. Between pairs of high, low, and half-dome caps, you’re certain to find a shape that’s comfortable for your thumbs. Also included are a pair of lever back buttons to attach, which are great for racing games in particular.
