EA and Respawn are working on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s PC issues

The Jedi team acknowledges that the PC port has some problems

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have issued a statement, acknowledging issues PC players have been having with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The Jedi team is committing to working on fixes it believes will help.

Users have reported both installation woes, like the file size of Survivor expanding to eat up a lot of space, to performance issues once they’re in the game. Reviews on Steam are largely negative, with users reporting hefty issues with trying to get good performance on cards like the NVIDIA 3080 and 4090.

In a post on social media, EA and Respawn address the issues. The team says it is aware that “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor isn’t performing to our standards for a percentage of PC players, in particular those with high-end machines or certain specific configurations.”

The development team highlights problems encountered with multi-threaded chipsets on Windows 10, or high-end GPUs coupled with low-end CPUs. It does say the team is working to address those cases quickly.

“While there is no single, comprehensive solution for PC performance, the team has been working on fixes we believe will improve performance across a spectrum of configurations,” the statement reads. “We are committed to fixing these issues as soon as possible, but each patch requires significant testing to ensure we don’t introduce new problems.

“Thanks for understanding and apologies to any of our players experiencing issues,” the post concludes. “We will continue to monitor performance across all platforms and share update timing as soon as it is available.”

Needs more power converters

Hopefully, the quick acknowledgement and dedication to tuning up the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is some hope for those who already got it. We didn’t encounter any of those issues in our review because it took place on PlayStation 5, but PC performance can be fickle.

Here’s hoping PC owners get a fix soon. For everyone else on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out today.
