EA Announces New Battlefield 2042 Limited-Event Featuring Control, a 24v24 Game Mode

EA has announced a new limited-time event in Battlefield 2042 called Arkangel Directive. This event was launched alongside a seasonal update. This event will feature a new game mode called Control, which is essentially a 24v24 mode. Players can engage in this game mode across three different maps which are Reclaimed, Orbital, and Valparaiso. Akrangel Directive event will go live on July 12 at 5:30 AM IST and the event ends on July 26 at 5:30 AM IST.

Battlefield 2042 Control mode: How it works

Battlefield players will engage in Control mode as part of a faction called the Arkangel Legion. The Control mode will task players with collecting data and uploading them on satellites spread across a map to earn Ascension points and win the match. Both teams in the Control game mode have to try and gain control of the satellites, after which they have to protect it until the telemetry data gets uploaded. A new satellite gets revealed after the data is successfully uploaded. The number of satellites that show up decreases with time and naturally brings both teams closer for a final battle.

Arkangel Directive rewards

Players engaging in the Arkangel Directive will get to earn different weekly in-game items. The first week of the event will give players the chance to earn the Paradigm Shift background, Final Sleep charm, and Force Fusion weapon skin. Rewards for the week after include Expendable background, Interneural headgear, and Binary Charge weapon skin.
