Ecuador vs Brazil descends into chaos with horror karate kick and red cards galore

Ecuador’s World Cup qualifier against Brazil has descended into chaos after just 20 minutes after two red cards shaped the game – with Ecuador keeper Alex Dominguez striking Brazil forward Matheus Cunha with karate kick.

With Brazil top of the table having failed to win just two of their 13 games, they travelled to third-placed Ecuador in the hope of extending their unbeaten record.

Emerson Royal’s yellow card in the first minute set a precedent for a feisty game in Quito.

Things got better for Brazil in just five minutes later after Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro got the opener from one yard out.

But the game slowly descended into madness after the quarter-hour mark after an X-Rated karate kick from Dominguez on Cunha.

And after proceedings were allowed to carry on, Royal added to the circus with his second yellow – meaning both sides had 10 men after just a quarter of the game.
