Eduardo Camavinga has Man Utd and Real Madrid preference as Ed Woodward trick repeated

Manchester United remain interested in French wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga – but are reportedly set to wait until the end of the transfer window to try and tie up a deal. United’s football director John Murtough oversees transfer dealings at the club and, just like Ed Woodward used to do, is hoping to get a better deal just before the window will slam shut.

Camavinga, who is still just 18-years-old, made 35 appearances for Rennes last season, as they finished sixth in Ligue 1.

And The Athletic are reporting that United are one of many clubs who are interested in the youngster, who already has a cap for France.

The report states that the Red Devils have scouted him for two years.

However, they are set to be patient when moving for the midfielder, hoping they will be able to pay a lower fee to secure the signature of the player.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been tracking Camavinga, however, their financial situation means they are unlikely to make a bid for him this summer.

“There are discussions that exist between the clubs, with the player as well.

“We still haven’t found a solution.

“Either we find a way to extend his contract, or a club is interested in Eduardo and we’ll reflect on the proposal that we’re given.

“We’re not obliged to sell a player who has a year left of his contract. Today, there has been no official proposal on the president’s desk.”

The youngster has also had his say on a move this summer, publicly talking up moves to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

“My future? I’ve not yet thought it over with my family,” he said.

“I am first concentrating on Rennes. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich interest is something nice, I can’t lie.

“It’s nice that big clubs have interest, but I’m not focused on that.”
