Elizabeth Olsen Wanted Fan Theories About Evan Peters’ Pietro Being Part of the Multiverse to Be True

Popular Hollywood actress Elizabeth Olsen has finally arrived as Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel blockbuster, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The character makes her return to the MCU for the first time since the events of Westview in Marvel’s first Disney+ TV show, WandaVision, which also featured Paul Bettany’s Vision.

The show provided a twist to the MCU, by focusing on two important characters of the universe in Wanda and Vision, with the former coping with the latter’s death in Avengers: Infinity War.

The show saw Wanda living inside a dream world she created in Westview, where she and Vision lived their life inside a sitcom. However, fans were met with a huge surprise when the show saw the arrival of Evan Peters as Wanda’s brother, Pietro Maximoff.

The episode was written by series creator Jac Schaeffer.

Peters’ cameo gave fans hope about Marvel finally opening the doors to the multiverse by introducing Pietro aka Quicksilver. In the MCU, the character was portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Avengers: Age of Ultron, before he died at the end.

However, before Taylor-Johnson played Quicksilver in the MCU, the character was first portrayed by Evan Peters in Fox’s X-Men universe. With Peters showing up at Wanda’s doorstep as Pietro, it seemed like Marvel was finally introducing the X-Men universe to the MCU following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

However, their dreams and hopes were soon dashed, when it was later revealed that Peters was playing a character named Ralph Bohner, who was a Westview resident under the influence of Agatha Harkness’ spell.

Fans were disappointed by the reveal, as they had theorized that this was the moment that was going to change the MCU forever, and Olsen recently talked about it during an interview with The Independent.

The actress revealed that she followed these theories, and even liked the one involving Peters’ inclusion through the multiverse. However, in the end, they couldn’t change it. as the show was already done filming before the pandemic began.

It’s a shame that Marvel had to reduce a moment like this into a “Bohner” joke, as fans were really excited about seeing a mutant in the MCU. But, it wouldn’t be long before a mutant finally shows up, as the Doctor Strange sequel is confirmed to have a cameo from Sir Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier.
