Elon Musk says advertisers who want to blackmail him can “go f**k themselves” – Times of India

Elon Musk really didn’t mince his words when talking about advertisers boycotting his social media platform. Speaking at The New York Times’s Dealbook conference, Musk gave his views on over 100 advertisers boycotting Xover his endorsement of anti-semitic views. Musk said that he hopes the advertisers stop. “Don’t advertise,” he said at the event, before adding, “if somebody is going to try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go f**k yourself.Go f**k yourself. Is that clear? I hope it is.”
He also took a shot at Disney CEO Bob Iger. Earlier at the conference, Iger said that he wouldn’t want his company to be associated with Musk in anyway. After dropping the F-bomb during the discussion, Musk said, “Hey Bob, if you’re in the audience,” hinting that his comment was directed at Iger and others.
Recent reports have suggested that more than 100 advertisers — including the likes of Apple, Disney among others — have stopped advertising on the Musk-owned social media platform.
What the boycott will do to X
Musk also said that if the advertisers don’t return, it will be the end of X. “What this advertising boycott is gonna do is it’s gonna kill the company.”He also said that everyone will know what X ‘died’ because of the advertisers. “The whole world will know that the advertisers killed the company,” he said, before adding that, “we will document that in great detail.”
“We’ll be gone, and it’ll be gone because of an advertiser boycott,” he said. Musk also implied that the blame should’t lie with him if the company folds and reiterated that it will be the advertisers’ fault. “The public will be the judge,” he added defiantly.
