Erling Haaland leaves Man Utd fans in awe after taunts in city centre

Erling Haaland leaves Man Utd fans in awe after taunts in city centre

Despite being one of the most recognisable faces in European football, Haaland took a stroll on his own through the centre of Manchester ahead of the weekend. And footage has emerged of him interacting with Red Devils fans who were in a car.

In the video, which was posted on Instagram, one of the United fans shouts across the street from the stationary vehicle towards the 22-year-old. “Haaland, you came to the wrong side of Manchester”.

And Haaland was in the mood to enter into the conversation. “No, they love me here,” replied the ace as he smiled and carried on walking along the pavement. The fans were clearly shocked to see the player out and about in Manchester and called out, “yeah, United.”

The Norway international reiterated his first point as he spoke to them for a second time. “Yeah, they love me here,” he explained. The car started to move as the fans talked among themselves to weigh up why the player was out on the street. And as they caught up with him and drove past, the initial fan who was speaking to the player shouted: “Come to us next season, United. Yeah, you know it – come on.”

Haaland has been in scintillating from since the Citizens prised him away from Dortmund for £51.2million. And he has already bagged a staggering 12 goals in eight games for the club. The Leeds-born star notched two goals against West Ham on his Premier League debut, before finding the back of the net against Newcastle two weeks later. And he then struck back-to-back hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

After scoring his 10th Premier League goal against Aston Villa, Haaland then opened his Champions League account for City by registering a brace in his side’s 4-0 thrashing of Sevilla earlier this week. And he is on course to have an outstanding maiden campaign in England.

Haaland will be keen to continue his early-season momentum in the coming weeks. But City, like their fellow Premier League teams, will not be in action this weekend after matches in England were postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.
