Erling Haaland’s agent helping Daniel Levy secure his No 1 managerial target
Slot utilised a shoestring budget to guide Feyenoord to their first Dutch Eredivisie title since 2017 this term. His impressive achievement has earned him discussions about an improved contract worth double his current £2million-a-year salary.
But Tottenham are circling as the season draws to a close, and the interest is said to be mutual.
According to the Mirror, Slot has told agent Rafaela Pimenta to push a move to Spurs through. After Mino Raiola’s death last year, Pimenta inherited his client list and oversaw Haaland’s £51m switch to Manchester City.
The report claims Feyenoord could demand around £10m for Slot’s release, given the £6m release clause in his current deal doesn’t activate for another year. But Pimenta is hard at work and is said to have already had two meetings with Tottenham, with a return trip planned when the season is over.
Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso was reportedly Spurs’ primary target after the promising start to his coaching career.
However, after Alonso confirmed his desire to stay put, Slot has now taken pole position for a role in desperate need of a long-term candidate.
The 44-year-old Dutchman recently suggested he would like to manage in the Premier League, with links to Tottenham rife.
