Toto Wolff and Christian Horner are among the F1 team bosses who have arrived for the annual F1 Commission meeting where discussions are set to centre around the controversial events from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It’s the first time since Abu Dhabi that Wolff and Horner will be in the same place after what proved to be a tumultuous end to last season.
The drivers aren’t involved in the F1 Commission, but the FIA have previously promised to hold “open discussions” with them all before the meeting took place.
The F1 Commission comes as the FIA announced last month that their inquiry into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was underway.
And the teams involved are set to discover the findings of those investigations at today’s meeting.
Any changes discussed in the F1 Commission can not be finalised until the meeting of the World Motor Sport Council on March 18 though – just two days before the first race of the season.
JUST IN: FIA told they ‘must’ admit to mistakes in Michael Masi warning
Michael Masi’s future as FIA race director has come under serious question with suggestions that he could either be replaced, or have someone join him to help make decisions.
F1 bosses have also indicated that there will no longer be any access for teams to hound the race director over team radio like fans saw last season.
Mercedes still want to see big changes from the FIA though ahead of the new season and the F1 Commission is the first official chance for Wolff to understand what is being planned.
Express Sport is on hand to provide fresh updates throughout the day.
