FA Cup draw in full: Man Utd get Gerrard’s Aston Villa as minnows land dream Chelsea tie
Manchester United will look to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2015-16 under new interim boss Ralf Rangnick’s control – although they have been handed a tough start in a home tie to Aston Villa, which will see former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard take on United twice in a week as Villa boss.
Gerrard was appointed as Villa boss in November after a poor run of form, and the ex-Reds legend was set to take on United at Villa Park on January 15 in the league.
It was to be the first time he faced United since his 38-second sending off in the north-west derby at Anfield back in March 2015.
But the draw has brought about two outings in a week for Rangnick and Gerrard, with the winner facing the nerves of the fourth round draw.
Elsewhere, Chelsea have been drawn at home to fifth-tier Chesterfield.
