Apple announced the new version of its iOS operating system at WWDC 2022. The company introduced the iOS 16 version of the operating system which will bring some really interesting features to iPhones later this year. With the upcoming iOS 16 Apple has also made some changes to its Face ID. The company did not mention this feature on stage, but with iOS 16 the iPhone users will be able to use the Face ID in landscape mode.
According to the iOS 16 preview page, iPhone users will be able to use Face ID in landscape mode. The tech giant mentions that users will be able to unlock their iPhones, make payments, autofill passwords and do more using the Face ID even while holding the phone in landscape mode.
So, with this cool feature in place you will not have to worry about the orientation of your iPhone in order to use it.
Along with this, Apple also mentioned that with iOS 16 the Hidden and Recently Deleted albums are locked by default and can be unlocked using your iPhone authentication method which is Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
For those unaware, the developer preview of iOS 16 is available to Apple Developer Program members at developer.apple.com starting today, and a public beta will be available to iOS users next month at beta.apple.com. New software features will be available this fall as a free software update for iPhone 8 and later. For more information, visit iOS 16. Features are subject to change. Some features may not be available in all regions or all languages.
