Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on Antonio Brown, Dallas Goedert, DeAndre Hopkins ,more affecting Week 11 start ’em, sit ’em calls

Antonio Brown, Dallas Goedert, DeAndre Hopkins, and Rob Gronkowski headline a group of banged-up pass-catchers heading into Week 11. As of now, their statuses look murky, so we’ll have to stay ahead of the latest injury updates. Each of these guys has at least top-12 upside and their position, so Week 11 fantasy start ’em, sit ’em calls will be greatly affected.

WEEK 11 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Antonio Brown injury update

Since the Buccaneers don’t play until Monday night, we don’t have a Wednesday practice report, but we should get one later in the day Thursday. Last week, Brown (foot) was ruled out quickly, but the thought was he would be able to return this week to face the Giants. We’ll just have to keep our eye out later in the week for further updates.

Brown, along with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, all have top-five upside any given week, and the Giants are a middle-of-the-pack team again WRs, but since AB is coming off an injury, he ranks as the WR20 in standard and WR22 in PPR leagues. All three Bucs’ WRs are must-starts, so their ranking amongst themselves is nearly irrelevant.

WEEK 11 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Dallas Goedert injury update

Goedert (concussion) didn’t practice Wednesday, but you know the drill with head injuries by now — we won’t speculate on whether he’ll clear protocols. We’ve seen guys suffer concussions and play the next week and we’ve seen guys miss the following week, so it can go either way. We’ll update this post as more information comes in.

If he does play, this figures to be a tough matchup against the Saints’ defense. They rank as a top-six unit against fantasy TEs, so Goedert ranks as our TE12 in standard and TE13 in PPR leagues.

WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

DeAndre Hopkins injury update

Hopkins (hamstring) wasn’t seen at Wednesday’s practice, and we might be trending toward him missing the game against Seattle. Hamstring issues can linger, and since Arizona has a Week 12 bye, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if the team gave him the week off. After the bye, he would have a full month’s rest to prepare for the playoff push. If we had to guess, that’s probably how it would play out, but nothing is official, and we need to keep an eye out for his status.

We don’t expect Arizona to put him on the field if he’s not fully ready to go, so we rank Hopkins as the WR5 in standard and WR4 in PPR leagues. Seattle has actually improved against fantasy WRs, but we have to consider they faced Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Jacksonville, and Green Bay in their past four games. None of those teams have multiple stud WRs.

Rob Gronkowski injury update

Like Antonio Brown, Gronk has no practices updates since Tampa Bay is a day behind ahead of a Monday night game against the Giants. Last week, Bruce Arians said Gronk is two-to-three weeks away from being “back to normal,” and it’s hard to imagine they’re going to play him if he’s still injuries. They regretted rushing him back originally, so we imagine Gronk will be out. Again, nothing is official, so we’ll update this section of the post moving forward.

WEEK 11 DFS: Best stacks | Best values | Lineup Builder

If he does play, he ranks as our TE5 in standard and PPR leagues. New York is decent against tight ends, but we’ve seen Gronk’s upside this year. Again, we don’t expect Tampa Bay to play him if he’s not ready to go, so we’re willing to take the risk he’s on a snap count. To this point, O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate haven’t shown us enough to be considered decent options at tight end if he’s out.
