Fantasy football owners have already gotten bad RB injury news this week, as Christian McCaffrey exited his Week 3 game early because of a hamstring injury. But we can’t worry about that now — we have to look forward to Sunday’s action. Unfortunately, Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) and Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) are both “doubtful,” and even worse, Dalvin Cook, Darrell Henderson, and D’Andre Swift have dreaded “questionable” tags. Henderson seems more doubtful and Swift feels more probable, but Cook is the true game-time decision that everyone will be watching. While you wait to see if Cook is playing, we’ll be updating this article with the latest news you can make your Week 3 fantasy start ’em, sit ’em decisions with confidence.
We’ll update this post right up until kickoff, so check back throughout the morning and afternoon. WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker
Is Dalvin Cook playing Week 3?
Cook (ankle) was held out of practice all week, but Vikings coach Mike Zimmer made comments earlier in the week that made it sound as if Cook would not only play against the Seahawks, but he would also see a normal workload.
With Cook playing a late-afternoon game, fantasy owners will have even fewer choices for a backup if he’s inactive. If possible, move Cook down to your flex position, and have an RB or WR from one of the late games or prime-time games ready to go. Alexander Mattison would get the start and see the bulk of the carries for Minnesota if Cook can’t go, making him a solid RB2/flex play in all formats.
WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker
Is Darrell Henderson playing Week 3?
Henderson (ribs) failed to practice this week, and we’re not optimistic about his chances of playing against the Bucs despite his “questionable” designation. The main reason for the worry is because L.A. activated practice-squad RB Buddy Howell on Saturday afternoon.
Even if Henderson is active, he’s an extremely risky start against Tampa’s top-two run defense. Keep him on your bench even if active. If Henderson is out, Sony Michel will start and see the bulk of the carries, but he’s merely a volume-based flex in standard leagues.

Is D’Andre Swift playing Week 3?
Swift (groin) is once again officially “questionable,” and he’s once again expected to suit up.

Baltimore has been better against the run than pass this season, but considering Swift does so much damage in the receiving game — particularly during garbage time — he’s still in play as an RB2 in standard and PPR leagues. If Swift is a surprise scratch, Jamaal Williams would see close to 20 touches and be a solid RB2 in all formats.
