Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on Kareem Hunt, Ezekiel Elliott, Damien Harris, more RBs affecting Week 6 start ’em, sit ’em calls

Few things are worse in fantasy football than a late-afternoon player being “questionable,” and in Week 6, there are at least five key RBs (Kareem Hunt, Ezekiel Elliott, Damien Harris, Chase Edmonds, and Melvin Gordon) in the three-game late window who will be game-time decisions. Start ’em, sit ’em decisions won’t be easy while you wait to find out if that many running backs are playing, but we’ll be here every step of the way with the latest injury updates to inform your lineup decisions.

WEEK 6 STANDARD RANKINGS:

Is Kareem Hunt playing Week 6?

Hunt (wrist, knee) missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but he got in a limited session on Friday. He should be fine against the Cardinals on Sunday.

With Nick Chubb (calf) already ruled out, Hunt will be counted on to handle close to 20 touches in a favorable matchup. He’s an RB1 in standard and PPR, with D’Ernest Johnson serving as the change-of-pace back and having borderline flex value. If Hunt is a surprise scratch, Johnson would be a solid RB2.

WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Is Ezekiel Elliott playing Week 6?

Zeke (ribs) is “questionable” for the second straight week, but after getting in limited practices all week, there doesn’t seem to be any real reason to worry about his availability against the Patriots.

After a mediocre first two games, Elliott has turned back the clock to a few years ago when he was arguably the best RB in the league. He’s a must-start. If he has a setback, Tony Pollard will be a borderline RB1.

WEEK 6 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Is Damien Harris playing Week 6?

Harris (ribs) was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday and should be active against the Cowboys.

It’s unclear how much Harris will actually play after fumbling on the goal line for the second time this year. Given the matchup, he should be a decent RB2/flex in standard if he gets his usual workload, but he’s certainly risky, especially in PPR. Rhamondre Stevenson and Brandon Bolden figure to get some touches and would be low-end flexes if Harris is out.

Is Chase Edmonds playing Week 6?

Edmonds (shoulder) was limited in practice all week, but after playing last week despite less practice time, Edmonds is expected to play against the Browns.

Given the matchup, it’s tough to trust Edmonds in standard leagues, but he gets enough regular touches to still use him in that spot. He’s a safe RB2/flex in PPR leagues. If he’s out, James Conner will see 20-plus touches and be a legit RB2 in all formats.

Is Melvin Gordon playing Week 6?

Gordon (hip) was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, putting him in position to play against the Raiders.

If Gordon is a surprise scratch, Javonte Williams would be a borderline RB1 in all formats. As it stands, both are in the RB2/flex range.
