Fantasy WR PPR Rankings Week 6: Who to start, sit at wide receiver in fantasy football

Off of another strong week for the wide receiver group, it’s time to look forward to our Week 6 fantasy WR PPR rankings. The byes claim Corey Davis, Calvin Ridley, and Deebo Samuel this week, so fantasy football owners are at least getting off easy in that regard. Still, more than a few people might be looking for streamers or waiver wire sleepers to plug into their lineups, so let’s break it all down.

Tyler Lockett (@ Steelers) is a concerning PPR play with the tough matchup and loss of Russell Wilson (finger). Lockett has made his money on the deep ball, and it’s tough to think Geno Smith will connect with him on those opportunities. DK Metcalf is likely the better play during Wilson’s absence, but we’ll see how it plays out. Adam Thielen (@ Panthers) often finds the end zone with ease, but it’s tough to see him having a field day without a touchdown against the ferocious Panthers’ defense. Understandably, you probably don’t have the means to sit him, but a bust week could be in order after he struggled against the Lions and busted against the Browns.

WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Among attractive mid-tier plays, Jakobi Meyers (vs. Dallas), Diontae Johnson (vs. Seattle), and DeVante Parker and Jaylen Waddle (@ Jacksonville) feel like solid PPR plays. All face susceptible pass defenses and are poised for strong performances. As we saw with DK Metcalf facing Jalen Ramsey last week, it’s tough to fade receivers purely based on the threat of cornerback matchups. So, although Trevon Diggs has been a stud this year, Meyers is a top option due to pure volume. Johnson is always a possibility for double-digit targets (despite his two looks last week), and Seattle is a dumpster fire on the backend of their defense. The Dolphins probably don’t seem good enough to support two starting fantasy WRs — and they might might not be — but it’s likely one of Parker (if healthy) or Waddle will have a good game.

WEEK 6 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

This week also lines up to be a huge one for Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley (@ Titans), as both could see a good number of targets. The same can be said for DeVonta Smith (vs. Buccaneers) and maybe even Jalen Reagor, who’s might be worth a flex spot in PPR leagues.

Kenny Golladay (knee), Sterling Shepard (hamstring), and Kadarius Toney (@ Rams) have all had their moments this season, but the Rams figure to be a tough matchup. Although the Rams have looked weak at some point in their secondary they’ve only been carved up by top-level quarterbacks. Courtland Sutton (vs. Raiders) and Tim Patrick (vs. Raiders) have tough matchups this week, too. Your first reaction might be to rub your hands together in excitement when you see the matchup with Las Vegas, but they’ve actually been a top-seven unit against WRs.

We’ll see Monday night if T.Y. Hilton (vs. Texans) is back for his neck injury, and if so he has sneaky PPR value against Houston’s lackluster secondary. He could be the piece Carson Wentz is missing through the air. If Hilton remains out, Zach Pascal isn’t a bad deep-league option. Stayed tuned for the status of Curtis Samuel (vs. Chiefs) in a favorable matchup with the Chiefs, too. His groin injury is still slowing him, but this is a potential breakout spot. Adam Humphries is a sneaky PPR play if Samuel is out.

The WR position is deep enough to survive these dreaded bye weeks, so make sure to keep an eye on the under-the-radar value found deep in our rankings.

We’ll be updating these WR PPR rankings as needed throughout the week, so check back for the latest changes and analysis.
