Far Cry 7 May Be Called Far Cry: Rise According to a New Leak; Here Are the Details

A leaker has revealed some of the details of the long-rumored upcoming title from the Far Cry video game series. It was earlier reported that Far Cry 7 is in development at Ubisoft, along with a multiplayer title. A leaker has now shared more information on these games, where they reveal that the multiplayer mode will be a new experience launching with the mainline title.

The leaker shared the synopsis of the game as received from “a reliable source” on the 4channel forum. It states that the upcoming Far Cry title, which will be the seventh mainline instalment from the series has been titled Far Cry: Rise. It allegedly takes place on a fictitious tropical island called Kimsan, that can be found in the “Yellow Sea next to Korea”.

With Korea as the setting, you will get to play as either one of the two siblings- Andrew or Mina Park. They are Korean Idols, who find themselves stranded on Kimsan, which is taken over by North Korean insurgents, led by Choi Sang-Pil. As a player, you will have to survive on the island, and save your sibling from the “expanding insurgency”.

Actor Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game, Deliver Us from Evil) will allegedly be playing Sang-Pil.

According to the synopsis, the Campaign mode which takes place in an open world, can be played co-operatively with up to 4 members in the team.

Far Cry 7 multiplayer experience, all we know

Far Cry: Rise will apparently include a multiplayer experience for the first time ever, titled Far Cry: Conquest. In this open-world based sandbox mode, players will team up in trios, to be pitted against 90 other enemy players or AI combatants. This is basically an extraction mode, where the objective is to escape the island, but you’ll also get to narrative-based missions, side quests, and collect valuable items. You build your inventory to your advantage for your next venture into the island.

While nothing has yet been announced officially, Far Cry 7 reportedly has a tentative release date of Fall 2025. Ubisoft Montreal is known to be developing it.
