Fast & Furious Fans Debate the Exact Moment the Franchise Left Reality

Fast X hits theaters Friday and, based on the trailer, the franchise is once again introducing some absurd moments to its world of street racing and high-speed heists.

Now, Fast & Furious fans have flocked to Twitter to determine when the franchise went from farcical to downright cringey.

Fans responded with scenes of Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto performing various death-defying stunts throughout the film series.

“This was the moment physics became a suggestion to the franchise. As long as you’ve got family,” one Twitter user wrote

Several fans suggested the rope swing scene from 2021’s F9: The Fast Saga, where Dom and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) drive off a cliff and swing to safety inside their car.

In addition to Dom, scenes involving Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs were also mentioned in this Fast & Furious debate, including the time he brought down a military helicopter by using his muscles in 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

Of course, fans can’t forget the moment when Tej (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges) and Roman (Tyrese Gibson) end up in space in the 9th installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.

How will the family up the ante in Fast X? We’ll see soon enough. The new entry, which is due to release on Friday, is expected to be the beginning of the end for the series, though Vin Diesel has hinted the finale may actually become a trilogy.

In the meantime, we recently took a deep dive into the 20-year-old evolution of Fast & Furious car chases as well as the best moments from the Fast & Furious franchise.
