Fast X: Vin Diesel’s Dream Casting for Next Movie Is Robert Downey Jr.

As the release of Fast X grows nearer, the cast is looking forward to the 11th Fast and Furious movie, which will be the last in the franchise. Of course, a few stars already have some ideas for the 11th movie’s casting, and one even has a role in mind for his dream co-star.

At the Fast X trailer premiere on Thursday, star Vin Diesel told Variety “without hesitation” that Robert Downey Jr. is his dream cast member for the franchise’s final film. Diesel even has a role he’d like the actor to take on, too.

“Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there’s a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom,” Diesel said. “There is somebody that believes that’s the future, and that’s at direct odds with the Toretto mentality.”

Michelle Rodriguez, who stars alongside Diesel, also revealed her dream co-star to Variety.

“Matt Damon, would you be in a Fast and Furious movie? C’mon, we got four Oscar winners, man. And you’re an Oscar winner!”

The trailer for Fast X, which is now slated to premiere on May 18 after facing delays, debuted last night. We gave its predecessor, F9, an 8 in our review, calling it an “absolutely wild ride packed with thrills, laughs, and — in the end — a heartwarming message about family.”
