Aleksandr Mitkovic then made it 3-1 for Serbia after the break. However, Cameroon punched right back to score two goals within three minutes of each other to bring the game back on level terms.
First it was the substitute Vincent Aboubakar, who struck in the 63rd minute with a chip over the Serbian goalkeeper. The offside flag was raised, but the decision was sent up for video referral. The off-side was overruled and the check-goal awarded.
The Serbian lead was cut down to 2-3.
Just over two minutes later, in the 66th, Eric Choupo-Moting found the back of the net to make it 3-3.
The draw keeps both teams still in contention, pending other results, in the race to knockout rounds.
