Five players waiting for green light to join Man Utd this summer

Manchester United are currently battling to make signings this summer. Erik ten Hag wants his side to take transfer action, with their rivals strengthening around them. Express Sport now takes a look at five players who are eager to move to Old Trafford this summer and want the club to green light their potential arrivals.

Mason Mount

It’s an open secret that Mason Mount wants to join United this summer.

The midfielder is widely expected to leave Chelsea, even though talks between the Red Devils and the Blues have hit a snag.

United have seen three bids for the 24-year-old rejected so far and appear ready to move on to alternative targets.

Yet Mount is still hoping to be strutting his stuff at Old Trafford instead of Stamford Bridge next season.

And whether United are able to finally land their No 1 midfield target remains to be seen.

Rasmus Hojlund

Another striker United have under consideration is Rasmus Hojlund.

Few had heard of the Denmark international 12 months ago.

After scoring nine goals for Atalanta last season, however, he’s now viewed as a talent for the future.

Hojlund is apparently eager to join United, despite only spending a year in Italy.

Like Kane and Mount, however, the Red Devils face paying a premium fee. Hojlund, unlike the other two, represents potential rather than the finished article right now.

Axel Disasi

Axel Disasi has impressed at Monaco in recent years, having moved to the club from Reims in 2020.

And Fabrizio Romano, speaking recently, said the youngster would love play under Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

“So, Disasi, for example, is a player who remains on the list who would love to join United,” he said.

“From what I understand, he would be very happy about a United move.

“But, this is not a priority for the club as of now.”

Neymar

Back in May, it was claimed Neymar was another superstar eager to play for United.

The club were quick to downplay speculation over a move, however.

It’s hard to see Neymar leaving Paris Saint-Germain, especially with Lionel Messi no longer at the club.

PSG could also lose Kylian Mbappe, who has been linked with United and Real Madrid amid uncertainty over his future at the Parc des Princes.

Neymar seems unlikely but, given how manic past transfer windows can be, never say never.
