Forget Prime Day! Currys and Argos offer something Amazon can’t
Outside of Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day is one of the biggest shopping events on the calendar. The best Prime Day deals see huge discounts on some of the popular products on Amazon, with customers able to get next-day delivery on their sale items at no extra cost.
However, there can be one major disadvantage to Prime Day – you need to be an Amazon Prime member to benefit from the deals.
Thankfully, there are a couple of ways to get around this. First up, you can still unlock access to thousands of exclusive discounts and deals for free, thanks to a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime that grants access to all Prime Day deals …as well as other perks from membership.
If you’ve taken out a free trial for Prime membership in the past, it’s still worth checking the eligibility of your account. Amazon typically allows accounts to test its Prime membership for free once each year, so it’s very likely that you’ll be able to take out another tester or offered a week for as little as £1.
The other way to get around the Prime members-only nature of the Amazon Prime Day sale? Shop elsewhere. Yes, many retailers are trying to match Amazon’s bumper by offering their own range of mega deals so you can still grab a deal.
Currys is launching its own range of tech deals for shoppers with some great deals on headphones and TVs. The tech retailer currently has the popular Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones on sale for just £235.
Our Sony WH-1000XM4 review of the headphones gave them five stars and praised its incredible sound and noise-cancelling capabilities, but one major drawback was the £350 price tag. That has been slashed by Currys which means you can get them at a much more affordable price.
John Lewis is also offering a bonanza of deals for bargain-hunters looking to get a deal on that beloved item.
Some items include LG TVs, Samsung soundbars and wireless earphones meaning there are loads of products that could be in your basket in the next couple of days.
One of the best deals from John Lewis is the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite Tablet, which comes with 3GB of RAM for just £109.99. It features an 8.7″, WXGA+ touch display with speakers powered by Dolby Atmos technology and a 5,100mAh battery so you won’t run out of juice while scrolling the web or watching that video.
Argos is also celebrating its 50th birthday by offering a whole host of deals on tech with deals on Sony and Phillips TVs, soundbars and more.
One of the best deals on the platform is the LG 43 Inch Smart 4K TV. The telly features LG’s fully loaded webOS smart platform in a slim design which includes access to all of the must-have apps like Freeview Play, NOW, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and Twitch.
It has a stunning 4K Ultra HD display resolution which also includes HDR10 which ensures bright and crisp picture quality.
