Fortnite Creative 2.0 Deletes Player-Created Call of Duty Maps

Fortnite has a lot going on at the moment with the introduction of MEGA City in the game’s Chapter 4 Season 2. Epic Games also unveiled Fortnite Creative 2.0 which comes with the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) tool. The new mode also comes with capabilities that allows players to recreate the game’s original maps.

However, Eurogamer has recently spotted an issue after Fortnite Creative 2.0’s launch. It seems like many maps that were player recreations of iconic Call of Duty maps such as FPS Rust, Zombies, and more have been deleted in the game. These maps have been removed due to Epic Games’ terms of conditions that does not permit players to “create, publish, or monetize content based on others’ copyrighted IP.”

More clarity comes to us by Jake Lucky of Full Squad Gaming’s recent tweet. In his tweet, Lucky stated that these maps are being taken down by Activision themselves due to copyright infringement. Creators were told to remove these maps from the platforms due to the DMCA notices sent by the Call of Duty developer.

Moreover, one of the popular creators on the platform, Mist Jawa, who is known for their work in recreating the Call of Duty-inspired Rust map which also features FPS, has also confirmed on social media that their maps have also been taken down as a result of Activision’s DMCA notices.
